It is a lovely warm day here at the beach and Beau, (poodle assistant designer) and I just got back from our morning run/walk along the strand. We usually head back home by weaving through the park and neighborhood streets commenting on architecture and landscapes. I comment, he looks at me.Today, I realized that Spring is definitely here in full bloom. Each year I fall in love with a new floral scale and palette and of course this year is no different. This look never makes it into my own home though I love everything about it. Just last week I ordered a chair, accessories and began painting and wallpaper for a client and now I have the burn. As always, I am attracted to large-scale floral papers and prints like Christian La Croix for Designers Guild has fabulous prints that I have been dying to use. Both papers and fabrics. This year it feels more about texture, clarity and scale as I have written here. digital prints for walls are just breathtakingly beautiful. The bigger the better. Try digital print murals, papers, or swaths of fabric and of course artwork. I know not everyone can dedicate a wall to these glorious prints but there are many ways to interpret a grand scale floral with printed pillows, throws and cool rugs. Large scale art work can accomplish the impact and drama, too. For the faint of heart? Find a gorgeous large scale floral print in a fabric and strecth frame it. Use it as a backdrop around in various rooms, till you find the area you love. My bet a bedroom or a corner that needs some life and voila, you have the look. Floral galore in all the right hues.
